From the Bronx to South Ferry, boy, 5, rides No. 1 train alone – and survives
A precocious 5-year-old boy wandered off from his mom this morning and hopped on a southbound No. 1 train, riding it from the Bronx all the way to end of the line in lower Manhattan.
Samuel Sosa was on the train for a remarkable 34 stops before he was spotted strolling on the platform at the South Ferry station by alert transit clerks, officials said.

NEW YORK (CBS) ― A 5-year-old boy slipped out of his mother's grip in the Bronx on Monday morning and ran up a very long flight of steps to the No. 1 train.
He then took a very long ride to the last stop in Manhattan, a total of 34 stops. But thanks to many good Samaritans, the story has a happy ending.
